After school I went to the first meeting of Tteh (떼) which is a samulnori (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samul_nori) club. I played the jang-gu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janggu) a little bit.
I'm sad to say this but Korean drumming just isn't the same as taiko (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiko), Japanese drumming. With taiko you have a big drum in front of you and you use gravity with your arm motion. With jang-gu the places you hit is on the sides... it just isn't as fulfilling. Or stress relieving. Not sure I'm going to join this club...
